Ross Dempsey

Ross holds a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and has coached full time since 2017, delivering more than 8,000 coaching sessions.

His approach is grounded in exercise physiology and periodization: training organized in phases, each with a clear purpose, rather than random hard sessions. He has competed in distance running and strength sports, and applies that experience to runners who want to be both strong and fast.

Ross also hosts The Progression Health Podcast, where he discusses running, strength training, and coaching practice with coaches and researchers.

What clients say

“I began working out with Ross spring of 2022 and he has been nothing but EXCELLENT.  Ross is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, detailed, supportive, and truly cares about his clients’ progress.  He keeps the sessions fun and interesting, yet consistent, so I can continue to build on the prior session.  Ross does a great job explaining the movements and reasoning, pushing me, while also being able to adjust the workout depending on how my body feels.

My primary goal was to feel stronger and better in my body, and I have definitely improved my strength, and physical and mental health since working out with Ross.  He has also helped me build better habits so I can maintain a sustainable, long-term fitness/health plan.  Since working with Ross, I have felt stronger and more energetic.  He is a pleasure to work with, and I would recommend him as a personal trainer to everyone!”
